David L. Tharpe, M.D.

Dr. David Tharpe graduated from Furman University with a BS in Biology. He received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at UAB. After completing his fellowship in Nephrology in 1977, he and Dr. Jackson formed Nephrology Associates, PC in Birmingham. He serves as Chief of Nephrology at several local hospitals and on the carrier advisory committee for Blue Cross/Blue Shield. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians.
